so, What does  an hoa do?

more than you'd think

01. Ever wondered why...

...you have a homeowners association? We do number of different things, such as maintaining the common areas, providing a meeting place for open board meetings and setting and collecting maintenance fees required to run an association. That being said, one of the most important functions of an association is to enforce deed restrictions and protect the value of the community assets, among those being your home.

02. Some Tasks done...

...that may have escaped your attention The crucial factor is that the men and women on the association's board of directors enforce the rules that have been created.
Remember, if the restrictions are not enforced, the appearance of a development can steadily decline if the board members do not discuss and establish uniform standards for everyone.

03. the need for uniform standards

The neighborhood can either become an architectural showcase for sustained property values, or it can become a venue for the weird and unusual. People have differing views of what is attractive and, without certain deed restrictions, there is a good chance of the neighborhood looking dramatically different over time from the way it did when you first bought your home.

04. why a Property Management Company?

Many HOAs hire a property management company (usually picked by the board of directors) to do things like maintenance, bookkeeping, and dues collection. Many Home Owner Associations have an HOA Website to communicate effectively with their members.
